Hi, What Happens Exactly When I Execute The Following Command:

Hi, what happens exactly when I execute the following command:
trains-agent daemon --gpus 0 --queue default &In my code, how to know which GPU to choose inside an experiment?
From the docs:
Specify the active GPUs for the Docker containers to use. These are the same GPUs set in the NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES environment variable.But I am not using docker for running my experiments. What happens then?

NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES=0,1
Basically it is uses "as is" and Nvidia drivers do the rest
Same goes for all or 0-3 etc.

Hi JitteryCoyote63
The NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES is set automatically for the process the trains-agent spins, so from your code, it is transparent, you can only "see" GPU 0.
(Obviously not using docker you can forcefully change the OS environment in runtime, but you should avoid that ;))

Thanks AgitatedDove14 !
What would be the exact content of NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES if I run the following command?
trains-agent daemon --gpus 0,1 --queue default &
