Yep, that sounds about right, it uses Posix file system for internal lock mechanisms (multi process locks), and my guess is that the NAS for some reason does not support it...
I am symlinking the .clearml directory to a NAS server and this is perhaps part of the problem. When I don’t do this the problem goes away. The issue is that I can’t fill up my home directory so I still need to save all the .clearml metadata elsewhere.

could it be you are also working on the same machine ? are you running the agent in docker mode or venv mode ?
